Decals for slotcars |
When you buy a slotcar, it is often a slotcar that doesn't have all the right decals - even though you might would expect it to be so. But it is quite easy to add some decals or even replace some of them. I recently bought two Carrera Ferrari F2002 slotcars, but they came without the distinguished Marlboro brand. DMC decals has made a sheet of F1 decals and I bought it from Scale Race Products for less than £5. When you only have to add an extra decal, it can be done quite easy. Cut the decal out of the sheet and put it into a small bowl of lukewarm water. After 5-10 secs the decal can be transfered to the car. When all the decals have been transfered to the car, let it dry over night before you give the decals one or two thin layers of varnish. |

My two Ninco Jordan Peugeot racecars needed to have some originale decals removed first and I removed them with some steel wool. Grind easily upon the decals until they are gone and then clean it with some water. The car will turn matt where you just removed the decal, but with a new decal and some gloss varnish, it will turn out alright again! I removed the unwanted decals at the front and the rear wings and the sides of the two Jordan Peugeot and added new decals. |

My next 'victim' is the Scalextric Sport Renault R23 F1 which is missing some Mild Seven decals on the front and rear wings and on the sides. The procedure is the same as on the Ferrari. |
