Ferrari 512 S no. 9
To get more cars from Le Mans 1970 I've converted the yellow Ferrari 512 no. 6 from the Imola
race in 1970 by giving it a new number, new mirrors and a couple of new decals. There are not
too many pictures of the original Ferrari from Le Mans 1970, so it is not possible to see the car
in 360 degrees.
The car was driven by José Juncadella and Juan Fernandez for Ecsuderia Montjuich and started
as no. 9, but had to withdraw due to electrical problems.
Here is the Imola car, where it became no. 4. I started to grind the numbers of the car, put
new white roundels on and then the black number 9.
After a close study of the car I realized that the original car the red Firestone decals just above
the front lights had to come off and that the original car had two mirrors above the front
wheels. The mirros I got from Pendle Slot was red, so I had to paint them yellow. It was not so
easy to drill the holes for the mirrors, since the holes had to be larger than I thought.
The new decals are in place above the front light and the mirrors are salso in place. The car is
now ready for racing in Le Mans 1970.
