Class SP was the class just below the Class S due to the smaller engines!
It was in teh Class SP that France would look for their great hopes for victory - the three Matra's with the very strong driver line-ups
but the hopes would soon vanish! The four Italian Alfa Romeo's were also cars were dark horses - but all four were left in the dark!
The three Chevron had three very much different races, but none finished the race!
