Le Mans 1970, Class S
Class S had the powerful engines with up to a maximum of 5.0L engines and the ACO regulations asid you had to have at
least 25 cars build to be in the race!
Porsche made a very big effort to win the race for the first time and even hired John Wyer Automotive Engineering to lead the Gulf
Porsche team since he had been so successful winning Le Mans in 1968 and 1969. But the team had no luck and it was another
Porsche team that won the Porsche the first Le Mans victory!
