At this page you will find books that I recommend.
"A French Kiss With The Death" by Michael Keyser is the book of the making of the movie
Le Mans from 1971 starring Steve McQueen. The book is build perfectly up with a pre-story
of both Steve McQueen before this movie and the cars that participated in the movie. The
book tells you everything about the actors, the real racing drivers who helped in this movie,
about all small and big problems with the production - before, under and after shooting the
movie and it's a wonder that it ever got made!
Steve McQueen was a strange character but he really wanted this movie to be made, so he
worked for free, not seeing a dime of the 22 mill. dollars it actually made!
"Porsche 917, The Winning Formula" by Peter Morgan is the history of one of the most
famous race cars ever build. Some say it's only famous because of Steve McQueen's movie,
but the fact is that the Porsche 917 was the car to beat in 1970-1973.
The book tells you about the persons involved in making the Porsche 917, the technical
developments, the victories and especially the first Le Mans victory in 1970.
"Slot Car Racing: Tips, Tricks and Track Plans" by Robert Schleicher is a very useful book if
you're new to slotracing due to it's tips and tricks.

Robert Schleicher has been into slotracing for decades, so he knows what he is writing about
and he has written other books and magazines about slotracing worth looking at.
"Lola T70: The Racing History and Individual Chassis Record" by John Starkey is a
magnificant book of one of the most beautiful cars ever build.

My copy of the book is 3rd edition and has a different cover.
"Blue And Orange" by Michael Cotton and Martin Allerton is the history of one of the
most famous liveries in motor racing. The light blue and orange represent the colours of
John Wyer and Gulf's partnership which had so great success in the late 1960s and early
1970s with their Ford GT40s and Porsche 917s and the story even takes us to Le Mans
in the 1990s with the Gulf McLarens and into 2001 where Stefan Johansson had Gulf as a
sponsor on his Audi R8.
